Asia-Pacific ISTVS Conference and Annual Meeting of Japanese Society
for Terramechanics will be held at
Sapporo City is one of Japan's younger, most pleasant and
convenient cities. As the major administrative and commercial hub of
Hokkaido, the city has grown to a population of 1.8 million (Japan's
5th largest). For access from outside of Hokkaido, travel by air is
most common. The New Chitose airport is connected to a network of
airports throughout Japan, including Tokyo (Haneda and Narita),
Nagoya, and Osaka (Itami and Kansai). And there are also direct
flights from Seoul, Pusan, Dalian, Shanghai, Beijing, Hong Kong,
Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk, Guam and Taipei. Trains and buses connect the New
Chitose airport with Sapporo. The rapid-transit train operated by
Japan Railways departs New Chitose airport station every 15 minutes,
and the commute to JR Sapporo station takes 36 minutes. By bus, even
the center of downtown Sapporo is only about 60 minutes away via

All ISTVS members, as well as non-member professionals in the field,
are invited to join the conference at Sapporo. We will discussed and
exchange the latest knowledge and technological innovations in
terrain-vehicle (machine) systems.
